What thread type on Central Pneumatic (Harbor Freight) compressor

I have a Central Pneumatic (Harbor Freight) compressor and have to replace the manifold and other parts.

Would the thread, 1/2 inch I think, coming out of the tank be NPT or BSP?

Also, when getting the broken off pipe out of the boss(?) I bunged up the threads a little. Are taps available for these?

Further to Doug's comment, there are pages on this site that list the specifications for the NPT and Metric fittings.

BSP is standard British pipe, and I believe they are not tapered.

That might help, I hope.

Thread type, no telling...

Probably, unless it's metric or something else they came up with at the factory in China.

You really just have to measure carefully and figure it out.

And I say that because, in at least one case, a HFT bare pump with a supposed 3/4" - 14 TPI NPT outlet, was something else.

As to taps and dies, it depends on what it turns out to be, per your careful measurements.

Good luck.
