Worked fine first few times of use. Went to use just now and it wouldn’t shoot, figured something was wrong with pressure. Started looking and the tank pressure is at 200 and rising before regulator hits 50. How do I lower tank pressure but keep the preasure

Tank pressure too high
by: Bill

Hi there...

Assuming yours is a Porter Cable compressor, what model please?

You say the tank pressure is reaching 200 PSI. What is the normal pressure level where the compressor would stop? In other words, is 200 PSI too high as it relates to the pressure switch settings?

Also, the regulator is too low? By that you mean you have adjusted it, and the pressure doesn't change... or what, exactly?

It might help to read how compressor pressure switches and regulators work, and this info is easily found by using the Sitemap page. Scroll down and click on the links to pages that describe what your issue is.
