Sullivan Palatek Air with 2010 D185 John Deere shuts off?

Compressor will run about an hour after first start then shut off. Can restart and will run under load for about 20 minutes then shut off and so on... I don’t think it has to do with temp even though it only happens when the ambient temp is over 90F. I say this because it starts right back and continues running after letting go of the bypass button.

Sullivan Palatek Air with 2010 D185 John Deere unexpected shutdown

I think you must be looking for a near-short or framed condition. Maybe even a broken (but still "connected") wire in a harness.

The combination of heat and vibration probably shakes some wire(s), causing the shutdown, but when the vibration stops, the problem goes away - until next time.

If you haven't already, check wiring for worn or melting insulation near metal. For starters.

Good luck.

It shuts down completely. All levels are good.

I do not know the temp of oil and water when it shuts down but as stated it starts right back up and runs.

I know in the automotive world after shutdown the fluids tend to heat up so I assume that the temps are in operating range.

2010 D185 unplanned shutdown

It stops dead, or lugs down?

When it's running, and under whatever your normal load, at what RPM is the engine?

Are all engine and pump temperatures and pressures in normal range?

Is the fuel water free?
