Smith 100 tow behind air compressor pin hole leak

by Wayne Dorsch

I have a pin hole leak in the air cooler. I want to use the compressor to blow out sprinkler systems, can I remove the cooler? I've seem smith schematics that show the compressor with and without the cooler.

you refer to the compressed air cooler, yes?

You can eliminate it. Its purpose is primarily to dry the air - so for your application, you don't care too much as long as the ambient air isn't saturated. It could result in uncomfortably warm air at the output end though, so be prepared.

There are variations of this, including a screw type, and a modified v-8 where one bank is used as engine, the other bank does the air compressing.

What have you?
