Sanborn compressor fell over now won't run?

I have a Sanborn air compressor. I hauled it and it fell over on its side.

After I got it home and plugged it in, it doesn't want to run. Every tine I turn it on , it runs for a second or two then throws the circuit breaker. It was on its side for a short time. I pulled over and picked it up off its side. Did the compressor get ruined by it falling over on its side?

If it lay on its side for a few minutes the cylinder probably got oil in it and it's trying to liquid lock cause it to pull high amps.

Depending on which type it is and which model, you may have binded something that is causing the motor to overload. It may be damage done to the motor too. I have worked on several thousand Sanborn compressors, as we are a service center for them. Turning it over did something to it.

Be good to know the model number, Jerry, or at least, if it's oil lubed or oil free. Also, do you drain the compressor tank regularly?

You can bet that dumping it on it's side didn't help.

Please provide a bit more information and we'll see if we can figure out what's going on.
