on a Sanborn compressor , does 230/115 mean it will work on either 220 or 110 Volts?

I've been running mine on 230VAC using a dryer power cord and wired in to the motor for 230 operation. Just changing the end won't work.

What Bill said, and sometimes there is a switch on or near the motor to change it, or you need to rewire according to a wiring plate on the motor, along with a different cord, if you use one.

Sanborn voltage

I take that to mean that the compressor will work on either voltage, Ray.

It also may mean that to use the 220 volt power supply, your compressor power cord needs a different style plug.
