Ridgid wheelbarrow air compressor

The wheel that the belt attaches to seems to lock up. The bigger wheel is the one that locks up. I replaced the belt and checked oil seems ok. Runs fine till about 55 psi then starts locking up and making a terrible noise. What should I do? I blow out sprinkler systems so I need this equipment to run correctly and I'm running out of time. Start doing blow outs in next few weeks. HELP!!

If it's a two-stage, you might get lucky and find a bad check valve between stages.

Either single or two stage, possible check valve into the tank.

If those are good, then I'm afraid you'll need to tear down the pump to see what's going on. Maybe buy or rent a spare if you run out of time.
