RIDGID OF50150TS shuts off at 150 PSI then.......

by Ernst Goron

.... there is a blast of air that comes out of the pressure switch and the motor goes again to 150 psi, then the same thing happens... Not sure what to do.

I replaced the pressure switch and have same issue. sounds like the pressure relief valve opening, but that's not the case (replaced it as well), the air is blast out from the pressure switch... any ideas????

Thanks from Toronto Canada

Too bad you didn't ask first.

On the bright side, you have a spare pressure switch if it ever actually fails.

Good luck with the check valve.

Yup.

Sounds like a classic case of leaking tank check valve.

See where the line enters the tank. Typically there is a fitting there, and that fitting often contains a port for the unloader valve, AND the tank check valve.

Shut off the power, dump all the air, remove and clean or replace that tank check valve, and I suspect your compressor problem will go away.

Let us know if it doesn't, K?
