Revell 3671 airbrush compressor

I wonder If you can help?
I have a revell 3671 compressor and using with a badger airbrush. All has been working fine until last use.

When switching on it starts for about 1 second before tripping the mains fuse box switch. I have repeated this process several times. I have stripped the compressor entirely and checked for any loose connections. reassembled and same problem arises. I guess something is making it short out. any ideas?

thanks in advance

Ok thanks Bill
I very much appreciate your reply.
I'll look to find and check the capacitor If it has one.
When I submitted this I couldn't find a field for my email address so just filled out the post.

I was unable to determine the pumping method of this air compressor.

I am of the opinion that if the pump itself is working, then you may have a capacitor problem.

Please see the page on testing your motor capacitors on this site for help in checking your Revell caps, assuming the motor has them, and then advise.

Also, the absence of your return email means that when I move this post to the airbrush forum area of this site, you will not be notified of the move.
