Porter Cable drain valve leaking air?

"drain valve was turned to drain condensation and now it will not seal and leaks air."


I drained the moisture from my 1631 type 1 compressor and I can't get the drain plug to seal.

It leaks air and the plug now seems too small for the bushing that it screws into.

Do I replace or is there a sealer that I should use on the threads other than the usual goop?

To my knowledge, there's no such thing as a Porter-Cable 1631.

I did find a reference to an Argo 1631 5HP machine.

Anyway, can you get some pix of the thing(s) you have trouble with?

I might just tell you to replace it, but sounds like there may be something else going on, so I'd like to see some pix, please.
