Noise; tinging from T-30 tank

My T-30 had been used only one day in the last 4 months. Now I hear a 'tinging' noise that my stethoscope picks up from the tank. The noise is very loud, as if the tank is being hit very hard with a hammer less than half the size of a claw hammer. It happens erratically, maybe 10-15 times a minute. It does not sound like crankshaft/rod noise.

...encompasses many pump configurations, and doesn't say anything about the plumbing on your specific machine.

I'm concerned that lack of a check valve may cause problems for you eventually.

So, if you can post pix of the valve, or a detailed description, or the model number of the system, maybe we can find an easy drop-in replacement.

(By detailed, I mean port sizes, mostly.)

Steve, we all appreciate you taking the time to update your thread. T30 users elsewhere that may be experiencing the same issue will, in particular, benefit. Thank you.

T-30 tank noise

My tank pinging noise has been resolved, at least for now. I removed the piping that connects the compressor head to the check valve and then the check valve itself. A mis-shappened white check ball fell out. I believe this worn out ball had been erratically banging around causing my loud tinging noise. Using a long small diameter magnet I fished some broken pieces of the check valve spring from the bottom of the tank. I couldn't easily obtain a new check valve that wouldn't require re-plumbing, so I re-installed the original without the ball and spring. No noise and no side effects that I'm aware of after several weeks of use.I do not think the sitting without regular use had anything to do with the noise occurring.
I would consider buying a ball and spring, or maybe a new valve if anyone can suggest a source for one that wouldn't require modifications.
