New pump available for 919.167780?

by Jack Nixon

I have a Sears compressor model # 919.167780. It is an oil free, two cylinder, direct drive, 25 gal tank, 175 PSI max pressure compressor.

The tank and motor are both in good shape, but the pump is worn out, and a rebuild didn't seem to help.

I replaced the pistons, cylinders, and gaskets.

It appears that the crank bearings were on their last legs, because on disassembling the pump after the rebuild (more trouble shooting) there was a lot of scoring on the cylinder walls and the new piston gaskets were scratched.

The question is, might a new pump that will bolt on the old motor, be available from any of the original manufacturers? I believe mine was made by Sanborn. Black and Decker marketed the same compressor, so it was likely a successful pump.

Any Ideas?

Sincerely,

Jack Nixon

919.167780 pump

Doesn't look like it. If it existed, one of the parts places would have it, typically.

MAYBE you can jerry-rig something with a pulley driven pump. Is there a HP rating on the motor? RPM?
