My ignorance of compressor ownership

by Mark gtewatz

I recently purchased an old Joy screw type tow-able air compressor.

Let there be no mistake, I know absolutely nothing about the maintenance or if the oil level of the screw section of the compressor is separate from the engine and I refuse to mess this unit up.

I need advice on how to maintain this unit. Also is there a way to tell the year manufacturer ed by the serial number?

Ive tried to find info on the internet but so far have had little luck.

I did this without glasses so I hope its right.

You'd probably need a model first.

These things are pretty similar in the basics, so try googling -

"how oil-injected screw compressor works"

and choose videos or images, depending on your learning style.
