Motor stops on Ridgid Compressor OL50135W

The pressure gets to 125 psi then the motor stops, releases air, then trips the breaker. What is the problem?

Ridgid Compressor OL50135W motor stops

It slows down quite a bit before it stops, right?

If it has worked in the past, and nothing has changed in the power supply to it, the capacitor is probably going bad.

If the capacitor checks OK, or it still does this after being replaced, then probably the check valve is leaking.

There are sections on here help you check both.

Good luck.
