Mastercraft will not maintain enough pressure

Will not maintain enough pressure to turn the air sander on enough to use...air is lost immediately upon applying trigger of air tool.

So, essentially, you're using a tool that wants 6 CFM at 60 PSI, and feeding it with an air compressor that delivers quite a bit less than 1 CFM at 60 PSI.

If you wish to use your sander to do real work, you really need a much bigger compressor.

See the pages on this site about sizing an air compressor to get a better idea of the questions you need answers for to nail down the right air compressor for your needs.

Good luck!

Air Sander is 6.0 CFM at 60PSI
Compressor reads 1.0 CFM at 40 PSI and 0.7 CFM at 90 PSI

AFAICT, they don't (currently) have one anywhere near big enough to handle a sander.

But, as Bill says, maybe yours is an exception.

Hi Ed.

A couple of questions if we may.

What's the output of your air compressor in CFM at 90 PSI and what's the air demand of your air sander?

I suspect a simple issue of too high an air demand versus a too small air compressor, but you haven't provided enough information to decide for sure.
