Le Roi Dresser 660a won't start with air in the tank

Le Roi Dresser 660a won't start with air in the tank. You cannot turn the compressor wheel with air in the tank.

When you open the pop off valve on the smaller head air continually comes out of the valve.

It blows fuses when the tank has air in it when it tries to restart.

When the tank is empty the compressor will run like normal and shuts off when it reaches the correct psi.

You cannot turn the wheel on the compressor after it has air pressure in the tank.

To me it seems like a valve isn't closing, but I'm not an air compressor mechanic.

Check valve?

Look for one near where the line from the pump goes into the tank. Typically they have 3 ports.

Try cleaning it.

Let us know what you find.

Good luck.
