Johnson Portable Air Compressor Model 110 AL - this unit is small can be carried by one hand it has no tank.

The compressor head is direct drive powered right off the shaft of a Oak electric motors 1/3 hp motor.

Motor runs and it makes air but it leaks air in three spots.

On each side of the housing where the red plate bolts on and through a small round hole that may have once held a muffler. Am wondering if this is normal for this unit? If not is it worth the effort to repair.

What was this unit used for? Would this thing run the Airbrush set for the wife or some basic air powered dentist tools for engraving?

Unit came to me for 1.00 at a local salvage sale.

Yeah, probably air brush. Doubt it makes enough air for other tools, but you could try, of course.

I'd guess the diaphragm is cracked, you might be able to fix it.

And yes, probably was some sort of filter there at the intake.

Good luck and have fun...
