I want to increase CFM from 23 to 30

by David

I have an existing 7.5 hp Bel-air with a 30 cfm dryer and filter. I am adding a piece of equipment that is 12.2 cfm at 90 psi and I am currently using 15 cfm of the existing Bel-air unit. How can I increase cfm without changing out what I currently have? Would a storage tank at one of the pieces of equipment accomplish this?

Thanks
Dave

You really cannot increase the output of an air compressor.

You can, however, increase the amount of "pre-compressed" air - as you point out - by using another tank.

The trade off is that the multi-tanks will now take longer to fill to compressor cut out, and that could mean maintenance issues for the motor and pump of the compressor.
