Husky 135psi max compressor - Pressure switch or safety valve?

by Gary Hensley

Bill, I have a Husky 135psi max compressor, the compressor will not shut off at 135psi, and when it hits 140 the safety valve pops open. Is this a switch problem or a safety valve problem? Can I adjust the switch? Thank you.

Gary, it depends a bit on what the Husky compressor was working like when it did work properly.

What was the normal cut in and cut out pressure levels?

If, typically, it shut off at 120 PSI, and is now running up to the point that the PRV lets go, then in my opinion, you need a new pressure switch.
