Help wiring caps on Porter cable cpf6025vp-1

by Daniel Lee
(Houston, Texas)

I took pictures before disconnecting the start and run capacitors to test them because the compressor was getting hard to start and sometimes throwing the breaker. I can't find the pictures any more and don't remember how the wires were connected.

Have one reef and one black wire from the pressure switch, one red, one black, and one brown wire from the motor, and have no idea which capacitor goes where, or which wires are connected to which.

Help please?!I haven't been able to find a diagram I can understand anywhere.'

Wiring for caps on PC CPF6025vp-1
by: lazy-t

the two black wires go to the 2 lug cap. Looks like that cap is Non-polarized. The brown goes on the other 3 lug cap on the lug out by itself and the two reds on the two lugs nearest each other. Those two lugs are connected internally (meters zero) and therefore common to each other. My 40uF cap melted down. Sourcing one now. I see alot of people talking about blowing breakers. I suspect this cap is culprit on most of them. PC would like you to buy the whole $300 motor. I'm going to HVAC shop to buy the caps for prob under $25 combined. These parts houses should sell them. We all need them!
