Enough folks have asked general questions about Fini air compressors to merit this brand of compressor to have it’s own forum page here on about-air-compressors.com.

First, a little bit about the brand. They’ve been around since 1952, are headquartered in Italy and these folks are not a small company.

Along with a full line of air treatment equipment anda broad range of air tools, they manufacture rotary screw, scroll compressors and reciprocating (piston) air compressors. In those lines are Silenced compressors, “Special” compressors, Coaxial compressors, Belt-driven compressors, Direct drive compressors and High-pressure compressors (14 bar – 200+ PSI) and claim to have sold 10 million compressors in 120 countries worldwide. Like I said, they are not a small company, one reportedly with manufacturing in five countries.

What’s a scroll compressor, you may ask? Here it is, in their own words “Two spirals without any metal-to-metal contact in between, intake air and compress it in 3 successive phases to deliver it at 8 or 10 bar of pressure. The simple process allows a smooth contact-free operation of the scrolls and thus provides a very long service life to all the components and therefore of the complete unit”. This also allows for a totally oil free air production, critical for any application requiring such.

One of the things I find interesting about Fini air compressors, whether you have or are looking at an industrial compressor, or a small, 3HP for D.I.Y. home workshop use, is their claim that ALL of their compressors are made in Italy. True? Don’t know how when they also claim to have manufacturing in five countries.

I find it hard to believe that they can build a very good quality air compressor in Italy, ship it to distributors such as Home Depot and Lowes among a number of others and be competitive.

But then, Fini air compressors aren’t the “cheapest-seats” when it comes to compressors either, so maybe it’s true that all their compressors are made in Europe and they don’t actually buy cheap crud from offshore to sell with their brand label on it. Do you know otherwise? If so, add a comment below, please.
