Discharge line from compressor to the tank

New compressor 3/4 outlet. 1/2in inlet to tank

Old compressor with 1/2 outlet
1/2 outlet

I have a 60 gal tank and my 3hp compressor is bad. I bought a 5hp compressor to replace it with. The discharge line on the 3 is 1/2in and the fitting on is for a 1/2 check valve. The 5hp compressor has a 3/4 discharge line, will it be an issue to pipe the 3/4 in to the 1/2.

You mean a problem due to the size reduction, or how to connect?

The reduction in diameter will cause some extra back pressure, but it shouldn't be a 'problem'.

Looks like easiest connection would be a 3/4 to 1/2 reducer, and reuse the brass off the old pump.

Enjoy.
