I recently purchased this Craftsman 5hp 30 gal compressor.
The identity plate has been painted over and I do not have a manual. Can you identify this compressor for me and tell me how to go about checking the oil level?
Richard, in the second photo you can see the base of the pump. There is, what appears to be, a sight glass. Below the sight glass is the oil sump drain port.
Typically the oil level in a compressor with a sight glass is to the middle of the glass.
What I am not seeing is the oil fill port. I suppose it is on the other side of the pump, behind the plastic shroud.
Sears has a pretty good parts department and can often supply manuals. Without a model number though, it will be hard to find.
Your request is posted in the hope someone can identify the model and help you with a manual.
