Champion RV30A compressor pressure switch/unloader valve

Hi

I have a Champion Centurion 2 RV30A (7.5hp 120gal tank) in excellent condition with average use. Put into service 2 years ago.
Having issues with the unloader valve. More specifically the switch. The arm seems to be sticking against the unloader value after tank is filled. Keeping the unloader valve open and thus leaking. I’m not sure if the arm should retract after contacting the unloader valve. When I physically retract the arm it engages the motor as its calling for more air.
What gives and what's the remedy?

Thanks for your assistance!
David

Problem solved

Hi

Yes, it's the check valve in the tank that's not closing properly. I gave it a few taps with a mallet and it's now closing fine.
I also wrote Champion and received a reply right away. He said it was the check valve in the tank, not the unloader switch. He provided the part number if I need to replace the check valve.
$24 on eBay.

Thanks and this thread can be closed.

Not sure about this pump, but there has to be either a separate check valve or effectively closed exhaust valves in the pump to prevent air from getting out of the tank to the unloader. So, in the usual case there is nothing wrong with the switch, but rather with whatever blocks pressure from the tank.

Have you got a more specific model number like maybe HRV7-12?
