Champion R30 pump bleeding all air off unloader

on the side of the compressor by or in what they call governor housing cover,is a plastic cap with hole.

This normally should bleed off only the head pressure and then stop,,,,it does not!!!

Just keeps coming till tank gets low enough to restart.....Is my issue in the heads themselves...valves inside the head?

I said:

"You don't say what the pump is ON, so . . ."

as in pump to tank configuration, is what I meant.

You don't say what the pump in on, so . . .

If there's a check valve between the tank and pump, that's your primary suspect.

If there's no check valve, then that means it relies on the pump valves to block tank air. And the exhaust valve is leaking.

I hope it's a check valve, unless you like rebuilding pumps.

Good luck.

Champion R30 FIXED!

It was the large brass check valve that screws directly in the tank and in the supply line.
