Ingersoll Rand 80 Gallon vertical T30 model 242-5N. Baldor motor model L1410T 5HP 230V single phase 1725 rpm Spec # 36F17W500 S/N F1183

Dayton 5X152A motor starter

Bought it used from a shop selling off it's equipment. Wiring was disconnected from motor, starter motor and pressure switch.

Original 1983 caps (2 start, 1 run) were out and looked crusty. Looking to replace caps...and have specs.

Question is do the replacements have to have the exact same physical dimensions.

Found some online, all the same specs as originals for motor (based on motor model and spec#) but all are just a bit shorter.

I am a blacksmith guy...NOT a motor control wiring guy so all of this is greek to me.

Yes I will hire an electrician to hook up to service.

As long as the voltage range is the same, the micro-farad rating is the same, and you can install them on the compressor, as far as I'm concerned, you're good to go.
