A DeVilbiss Twin compressor pump ~ connect 1/8'' copper pipe

I have assembled a compressor for DIY use, as follows

A 0.75hp motor
A 50 litre Ex 'Fiac' tank
A DeVilbiss compressor pump
Question...on the top of the compressor twin cylinder head is a 1/8'' copper pipe (to both cylinders) that I don't know where to connect it to or what it does. It's not an unloader, I have that fitted to my check-valve.

Sometimes twin cylinder compressor pumps have a line between cylinders with a check valve in them. Some have a check valve and PRV, some just have a PRV.

I don't know enough about the specific item to tell you for sure what the line does.

Your question is posted live, and perhaps someone out there with knowledge of this particular compressor can comment.

Cheers,

Bill

Devilbiss compressor valve cap tubing connections
by: Roy

The tubing are to hook up a governor to control the intake valves on constant run applications. A proper governor will give instant valve control like you have on a highway truck or an engine powered compressor. Get a governor from a highway truck and plumb it in. I have had great results for 40 years
