881503 15 GAL no compression!

by Craig
(Houston TX)

The motor changed tones from the very loud hard working sound to a smoother quieter sound and it doesn't "dim" the garage lights when I switch it on. Sounds like it is not compressing!

Thanks Craig
Or, it's compressing air, but a gasket has blown inside the pump between the high pressure and low pressure sides, and the air is cycling back and forth.

Whether it's the valves or the gasket, your pump will need to be disassembled to investigate the cause.

Careful of any gaskets, or better yet, when you replace the valves, replace all the gaskets too. That should handle this issue, I would think.
