3z046a air compressor

3z046a air compressor

I'm not sure my previous query went through (lovely iPad), so I'm resubmitting. I am looking to buy a used compressor that is tagged Speedaire / Dayton but the seller insists it's also Champion.. I'm attaching a picture this time to see if that helps as well.

The model on the tag is listed as 3z046a and my Google searches turned up nothing on that - alone or paired with Champion, Speedaire or Dayton...

As to them fitting, ask the seller. They usually know, or you can compare dimensions and ring slots for pistons, for e.g..

Also, most of the parts seem similar, with variations of cranks and stoke, mostly.

As to noise - not sure. It's got some rattles, for sure.

And yeah, newegg was a *big* surprise.

Still waiting on additional pictures.

Short video of the compressor. Hopefully the link sticks this time.

That's funny. NewEgg has branched out. They used to be my go-to for computer parts...

How can I tell (without having parts in hand) is the 3Z180 or R15 parts will fit? I had seen those, but I've also found that parts tend to be pretty specific to pump varieties...

Oh, and here's a youtube video of the pump running. Is it just me or does it sound like it's knocking? Seems like a slow speed (710rpm) pump should sound smoother. Or am I over analyzing?

if you can believe this:

Some parts are harder to find, probably because they don't break:

https://www.pacificaircompressors.com/shop/product/champion-connecting-rod-assembly-z752-r10d-r15b-r30-r40/

As to bearings, they are probably standard, and can be gotten by the number on it it once removed.

Champion

Is the manufacturer of some (many?) larger Speedaire pumps.

Take a look at the 3z180 - it looks at least in that family.

Also R-10 or R-15, maybe. A couple more pix of the pump proper might help, too.

Additional information

I noticed in the picture that there is a tag on the side of the pump itself, so I requested a picture from the seller. Pump is a Speedaire 3Z181.

I was able to find multiple sites with replacement valves, but no rings or rod bearings. Are those no longer available at all or is my Google-foo lacking?
