ZT90 Element 1 high oulet temperature while discharging

Hi, we're having problems with one of our ZT90 Atlas Copco screw compressors.

In compression cycle everything is OK. But when discharging element 1 outlet temperature begins to rise rapidly and unit trips reaching 220°C.

Just reread your comment and if you mean unloaded (discharging) is when your temperature rises on the lp element the inter cooler adjustment bolt on the intake needs adjustment. It's the big bolt with a locknut on it. Probably 32-36 mm size

Look at the inter cooler pressure. If it above 37-40 psi and your hp 2nd stage is cool running you need to replace the hp element. Life of the lip is 5-8 years and life of the hp is 3-5.

Are you getting full output before when this happens?
