Wrong pressure switch for air compressor

I inherited a Speedaire 2Z498, with a Dayton 1/2 hp motor model 6K178-B, and a 3 gallon tank (1Z782 - 3034).

It has no relief valve and what I believe to be the wrong pressure switch. It has a Ranco refrigeration pressure switch, which seems to work opposite of what it needs. When the pressure builds up, the switch turns on.

Can you tell me what pressure switch I need and what relief valve I need - and where to buy them?

Also, what is the maximum pressure of this unit?
Thank you!
Danny

Wrong pressure switch on Speedaire 2Z498

Sure looks like the wrong pressure switch, Danny.

The specs I found says that yours is a 3/4 HP but don't say if it's 120 or 240 AC.

Regardless, here's one that will work if you plumb the unloader line over to it.

Also, when you add the switch, plumg a PRV into the line before the switch, or under it, whichever. That will protect the system from over pressure.

Again, couldn't find specs for the compressor but suggest that 135-150 PSI would be a reasonable range, and the PRV can be set for, say, 180 PSI or so, as long as the tank in good shape and is rated for it. There should be a plate on the tank to say the pressure rating.
