lR 30T Model 242-5C1 #30T 481807 Motor Baldor 5hp 25 amp Wiring

We bought at Auction an IR 30T compressor. After getting it home and looking at it we noticed the pressure switch and motor were both wired into a box that was on the wall. Is this a normal configuration? If so what type box electrical box do we need? All I recall that was at the shop where we got it is that it was a Square D box with a push button in the center. Thank You All...

Ideally, you should contact local building permit people for info on the hardware you require. It's usually standard stuff, but sometimes localities have slightly different specs.

Not having seen it, I'm not sure, but it's likely the box had to be there as emergency cut-off, and the "pressure switch" was a magnetic starter, controlled by the actual pressure switch at the tank. It would be this way to ensure that all power would be removed by that single switch, including the starter.
