Wiring 2 switches for 220v

Is it possible to wire my 200v air compressor so it turns on/off from 2 locations? I want to put it in my basement shop and control it from the basement and the garage.

I already have the pipes to both locations.

Thanks

Howdy Steve. Nice to hear from you.

When you say you want to turn it on or off from two locations, are you speaking of a toggle switch (same idea as a light switch) that you can send power to the compressor, and if it's in a cut in pressure level, have the compressor start?

Or, are you wanting to have two pressure switches?

The former is certainly doable with a couple of three way switches.

The latter would involve much more complexity, and some air logic.

Cheers,

Bill

220v Three way
by: Steve

I don't know that I've seen any 220V three way switches. Those exist?

Good point. If they don't, then an electrician may be able to emulate that function.
