will not run

When built a well nut was laying on the cover of the capasiter case. It wore through and shorted out.I bought new start capasiters and it only will kick the mag stwich and humm and kick the breaker out.

Drain the tank to zero pressure and try to get it started again. Any change?

If power supply is clean, and you are getting full power past the pressure switch when it calls for air, and the unloader valve is working, you may have wired the capacitor incorrectly, or the motor is suspect.
