So, Jerry, what I hear you saying is that your air compressor runs fine, but the pressure builds to a certain level, and though the compressor continues to run, the pressure in the tank will not rise past that pressure level?

That being the case, check you intake valve for "huffing and puffing", and if that doesn't appear to be the issue, then it is possible that you have an internal gasket leak.
