Will I get enough air to supply my 1" impact gun?

I have a big 13hp 30gl air compressor that supply 175psi through a 3/4" outlet. I reduced the outlet to 3/8 to supply my 3/8 air hose reel. The ingersoll Rand 1" impact gun has a 1/2" inlet and says that it need about 40cfm to perform correctly ( I think is at 90psi). Would I get enough air from the 3/8 hose reel to supply the gun?

Go to the site map and click the link to PRESSURE DROP. There is information there about how much air you'll get through different sized openings.
Generally speaking, I would try to match the supply hose size to the port in the air tool I'm using. In your case, you can't go wrong with a 1/2" hose.
Yet, you can try it. Undersupplying air to an air tool will do no damage. If it works, you're good. If not, upsize the supply line.
Cheers,
Bill
