Why does my compressor keep running ?

My pancake compressor keeps running even after the hose is disconnected. I cannot detect any leaks.

Howdy Ron.

Disconnecting your air hose from the compressor doesn't shut your air compressor off.

What shuts it off is the pressure switch.

If the pressure in your compressor tank exceeds the pressure level that it normally used to shut off at, then you have a failed pressure switch.

This can be dangerous. Get the problem fixed as soon as you can.
