GP90150A gas powered air compressor

GP90150A gas powered air compressor

GP90150A keeps building pressure till safety valve blows at 150-175 psi. Would a new unloader valve fix this.

GP90150A blows PRV

If this compressor was driven by an electric motor, Tom, I would say that it's likely the pressure switch that was gone and, if your pressure switch came with an integral unloader valve, then yes, you would be switching that out too.

When your GP90150A reaches the normal cut out pressure, the gas motor is supposed to throttle down and unload, so that though the motor is running, no air is going into the tank, until the demand for more air is there.

Your pressure switch should control the unload and throttle valve. One of these is suspect, I believe, but since I don't have any experience using gas powered compressors, we will have to rely on another visitor to provide an answer.
