Check valve 3/8

Check valve 3/8" FPT

Hi Bill

I wonder if you know the details of this valve and where to get it?
Which company may make it?

Check valve 3/8" FPT with internal bleed for 5 gallon compressor tank (which can handle 100 lbs pressure)

Allows flow in 1 direction only
1 1/4" long

Van,

It's entirely possible it doesn't "need" it, but they used it because it was cheap overstock from somewhere (even their own facility).

Other reason might be to minimize stock if they, for instance, also make propane tanks, which do need them.

In short, I wouldn't worry about it. If it's not expensive, go ahead and get that, otherwise any check valve for air or WOG should work fine.

It's the check valve for air compressor tank.
Found out it's Flair Line CV.
This compressor has pressure switch with built in unloader valve, safety valve, exhaust valve.

Just don't know why it needs internal bleeding.

is this from a propane tank?
by: Doug in s.d.ca

...Then it's supposed to allow fast flow into the tank (short delay) up to very close to the input pressure.

Not really necessary if you're using it as an air supply or receiver tank, but won't hurt either.

check valve with internal bleed ?
by: Van

Hi

Do you know why a check valve would need internal bleed (otherwise suffer from dead head?) ?
If a check valve only serves to lock air in tank...

thanks

Might help to know what it's off of, but try Grainger or McMaster-carr.

McMaster has an excellent on-line catalog. Good reading even if you don't buy. And they're small-order-friendly.
