It's for Dual run modes
by: Anonymous

Open valve completely for continuous run operation.

Close valve completely for start-stop operation.

Champion says if the compressor cycles 6 or more times a minute to use the continuous run, the compressor keeps running but is unloaded so the compressor doesn't keep stopping and starting as that's harder on the compressor, it loads once the pressure switch hits the cut in setting.

I guess it's a work around for not having a big enough compressor/tank for the work being done.

These look like replacement pumps guys. Where did you get them? Was it Grainger? If so, that's a logical place to get the info.

If not, what was the source, please?

Addition Information
by: Bruce

To give a little more info on this pump it had a label on the side of the case below this open fitting and the 2) "T" valves you see pictured in the common line. Don't know if this helps or adds to the confusion.

The label reads:

INSTRUCTIONS DUAL CONTROL

This unit is equipped with
a dual control valve.

Open valve completely for
continuous run operation.

Close valve completely for
start-stop operation.

What's that?

Not positive, but it appears to be for gas or diesel engine control, as I don't see most of that plumbing on the basic PL15A pump.
