I have just aquired this pump it has C1208 on it. It supposedly came off of a Sears model 106175541. From what I was able to gather that was a 1 to 1 1/2 HP air compressor, but, some had a 5 Hp motor. I cross referenced the pump and it also can be used with up to a 5 HP motor. I would really like to put a 3 to 5 HP motor on it if possible. I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Thank You,

John Cardoso.

Sears compressor motor

John,
Not sure when you posted your request but I will tell you that I am currently reconditioning an old Sears compressor that, gauging by your pics, is the same model. I am pretty certain that mine is all original components because of the paint. The motor on this compressor is 3HP 3450RPM.
Your Model number really helped me out since all the markings on mine were obliterated. Thanks.

5HP motor

Yes, you can use a 5HP motor with this.

What you need to know (and I didn't get a lot of satisfaction looking for this ) is the max RPM of the pump shaft.

If you can determine that, or even get the sizes of both pulleys for a given HP and motor RPMs, we can figure out what you need for a 5HP motor of a given RPM.
