What size compressor would I need ?

by Robert

I have a 40 lb. Pressurized Abrasive Blaster says on box 6cfm@60psi 25@125psi working per.60-125 psi.

My question is what size compressor would I need to use?

Without breaking the bank.

Will also be hooking a 20 gal tank in between to help with moisture and have been told would help on volume.

What size compressor do you need?

Well Robert, the info on this page says you'll get 3-4 CFM of compressed air at 90 PSI for each HP of compressor motor size.

As the output pressure goes up, the compressor production will drop.

So, check the specs of the compressor you are looking at, one that builds pressure up to 150 PSI for example, and see what the 90 PSI output is. If it's not at least 30+ CFM at 90, it won't give you the 25 @ 125 PSI.

As to breaking the bank, well, that certainly depends on how big yours is, doesn't it? Can't help you with that.
