what is the starting amp's of an 8 gallon 1.5 horsepower electric compressor motor?

I would like to use a portable generator to power the compressor. The generator is capable of producing 400 amps for start up power.

JC, how many watts is the generator. 1 HP = 745.7 Watts, meaning you'll need about 1100 watts for running the compressor, but don't forget the inrush.

I'm not quite certain about this, but isn't the inrush current triple the watts?
