What is a suitable oil for air line lubricators?

I have been told that 10W non detergent should be used, but I can not find any documentation to confirm this. In the past, I know that AW32 hydraulic fluid was used.

The air system consists of pneumatic cylinders and solenoid valves.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Good question, Gary.

While we'd always used light duty air tool oil in our lubricators, I decided to go to the source, and asked Norgren, a major manufacturer of air preparation equipment.

My thanks to Cody Mouret, Application Engineering
Norgren Americas, for this info.

Please read this page, and follow the link to the Norgren recommended lubricator oils.

I suspect that you can use any light oil in your air line lubricator.

Cheers,

Bill
