What breaker for 919.156780

sears compressor mod.#919.156780

on motor plate it states 22.0/11.0 amps. 115/230 2 hp.

In the manual it states 220-240 single phase voltage 15amps. 2hp.

I would like to know what size breaker I should use and single or double pole plus what size wire

it was my dads and he past we used the compressor all the time to gather . also its a Howard A.C . motor# 5083-02312-156 TYP.RK5 FR-M56 2HP. SER. ABH1J 115/230 volts. 2 H.P. THANK YOU.

In North America, at least:

A 15A circuit should be at least 14AWG.

A 20A should be at least 12AWG.

That should be good for at least a 50 foot run, unless you have low voltage to start with.

Breaker and wire

I'd use a 20 amp breaker.

Wire size will depend on how far from the panel the compressor is installed.
