Water in my crank case oil

My compressor oil is becoming contaminated with water. The compressor is a Craftsman, approximately five years old, 7.5 HP with 80 gallon tank, and only used for hobby/home use. I have an in line filter approximately three feet from the compressor and drain the tank and filter regularly. I have replaced the pressure relief valve, changed the oil several times but it stills becomes contaminated within a few days.

Bill says...If you read the pages on this site that describe compressor water, you'll know the reason why water is present in the air, the air that is compressed, and the compressor tank.
Without tear-down details, I would guess that your compressor may have worn piston seals, this allowing compressed air (and water) to bypass the piston and get into your oil sump.
By the same token, that being the case, you are getting compressor oil into your compressed air tank and lines, and that isn't good. Compressor oil is for compressors, not for pneumatic equipment.
