Depends on what you are trying to achieve in terms of dryness.

I suggest you read all of these pages on compressor water to better understand how water is generated in a compressed air system.

Understanding the where and how of water will tell you the where and how of your compressed air filters are best employed. And yes, often there's a need for more than one.
