Unloader valve starts bleeding off air through valve when top pressure is reached

by Gary Tatro

I just installed a new pressure air switch and am still have trouble with the unloader valve. When the compressor reaches max. pressure the unloader valve starts bleeding off air and will not stop until the compressor motor starts (or the air switch in gages). I had this problem before I change to a new pressure switch and am still having trouble. Do you have any answers?

Thanks

Bleeding air through unloader

Yep.

Already covered in the troubleshooting section.

I suspect your tank check valve.

You likely did not need a new pressure switch.
