thomas - 2hp oil less 120 vac. starts, runs, cuts out a 60 psi

2hp oil less 120 vac. starts, runs, cuts out a 60 psi. Should be off at 120 psi. Replaced pressure switch same results.

If it's not the pressure switch, then have you considered that maybe it's the pressure gauge that's pooched?

How have you been checking the cut out pressure level?

Pressure switch and gauge are new, also check pressure with air gauge at end of a short air line.

Thank you for your input.

Ed, how is it cutting out? Is the pressure switch tripping it off, or is it the overload on the motor, assuming there is one?

I assumed the former. If the latter, then it may be a run capacitor (if one used) not being able to keep up with the increasing load, or it's possible motor wear cause the same problem.
