thermostat cuts out compressor

by tassie

compressor switches on for a few seconds only b4 thermostat cuts out.this cycle keeps on repeating as long as power is switched on. No build up of pressure occurs at all. Compressor is jun air.

Tassie, while I can't be sure, do you perhaps mean the "pressure switch" cuts out the compressor, rather than the thermostat?

Unless you mean the motor thermal overload?

If it is the pressure switch you mean, the high pressure cut out might have failed, causing your compressor to shut off on it's high pressure level even though the pressure in the tank hasn't risen at all.

Cheers,

Bill
